Transactions
The Transactions view is where every movement from your connected accounts comes together. It’s the foundation for your categories, budgets and cash-flow forecast, so keeping it tidy pays off everywhere else.
Reviewing transactions
Section titled “Reviewing transactions”Each transaction shows its date, description, amount, account and category. MoneyLights cleans up raw bank descriptions into a readable merchant name and groups related movements from the same merchant together, so a wall of cryptic bank text becomes something you can actually scan.
Use the filters and search to narrow down by date range, account, category or merchant when you’re looking for something specific.
Categories
Section titled “Categories”Every transaction is assigned a category automatically. Categories are what power your budgets and reports, so accurate categories mean accurate insights.
- Change a category directly on any transaction. MoneyLights can learn from the change and apply it to similar future movements from the same merchant.
- Bulk edit by selecting several transactions and assigning a category to all of them at once.
Attaching documents
Section titled “Attaching documents”You can attach an invoice or receipt to any transaction to keep your paperwork and your money in the same place. Documents can also arrive by email and be matched to the right transaction — see the Documents section for details.
Reconciliation
Section titled “Reconciliation”MoneyLights can match your documents against transactions so you can see, at a glance, which movements have supporting paperwork and which are still missing it. Certain matches are linked automatically and the rest are suggested for you to confirm.
Let the assistant help
Section titled “Let the assistant help”You can ask your AI assistant to reclassify movements for you — for example, “move all my fuel purchases to Vehicle costs.” The assistant uses the same categorisation rules as manual edits, so your data stays consistent.
